What does auracle read from Apple Health?

auracle reads twenty-one kinds of record from Apple Health — eighteen measurements, sleep and mindful sessions, and your workouts. It is the one place a phone can hand over what every other app on it already wrote.

Activity

steps, active and basal energy burned, walking and running distance, flights climbed, exercise time, walking speed, and workouts

How do you connect Apple Health?

Connecting anything requires an auracle account, and sign-ups are invite-only while the beta is small. Request beta access.

Why does Apple Health connect from the phone and not the dashboard?

Because Apple Health data never leaves the device unless an app on that device asks for it. There is no server-to-server route to grant, so the permission is granted on the phone, to the auracle app, and the phone sends what you allowed.

Does Android Health Connect read the same things?

Close, but not identical, and the difference is worth knowing before you assume it. Health Connect has no alcoholic-drinks record type at all, so an Android member cannot contribute one. Do not read the Apple list as the Android list.

What does auracle do with it?

It reads it, and once a morning it texts you on iMessage about what it noticed — one message, on the earliest credible sign your day has started. You can ask it anything in the same thread. It is wellness software: it does not diagnose, treat or dose, and when a question needs a clinician it says so.

Whatever it reads, you can take back. The export is one file per connected source, in that source’s own order, whenever you ask.
